I would like you all to know that I have no affiliation to any of the food products I review and giveaway on my blog. These are small starter companies that have contacted me or that I have found and align with my idea of healthy foods. It is quite the journey a new product takes before most of you will ever see it on a store shelf, and that is why I want to share some great products with you!
I am fortunate enough to be in Colorado where a lot of natural food companies start. Jackson's Honest Potato Chips are out of Crested Butte, Colorado and are a force to be reckoned with!! I have said for so long that someone needs to come out with chips that are made with coconut oil instead of vegetable oil. 99% of chips on the market are made with vegetable oils (sunflower, safflower, corn and canola oil) that go rancid before you even consume the product! Jackson's Honest finally did it and they are AWESOME!!! I can't even explain the unique flavor of these chips. I was always a tortilla chip person, not a potato chip person, but these are delicious! It's almost a creamy or buttery taste. They remind me of some chip or snack food I ate as a kid, but I can't pin point what it is. These chips are made with all organic ingredients (heirloom potatoes, coconut oil and sea salt) which means no GMO's and you don't have the guilt of consuming the unhealthy fats. Even better news, this fall they will be adding new flavors of chips and sweet potato chips!!!!
I am giving away 3 bags of these kettle cooked chips to one lucky winner!! Let's have some fun and come up with the flavor of chip (ie: BBQ or Beet chips) we would love to see Jackson's Honest create. Enter your suggestions in the comments below to enter this giveaway. I will be selecting a winner on Friday the 16th.
In the meantime, go check out the story behind the chips, it will touch your heart! A portion of their profits are donated to the Children's Hospital, so go order some for that reason alone! The chips are available in a few stores and their online store. the price is very competitive and the bag is full of chips, not air!! For all of you Colorado people or anyone with a Natural Grocers near you, keep looking for these or start asking for them, they should be available there soon!! My guess is that Whole Foods will want these on their shelves soon!!
